Biography

Sarah Carmichael grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in violin performance. After a full career as a violin performer and teacher, Ms. Carmichael made the decision to follow another lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer.

During her time in law school at the University of North Texas at Dallas, Ms. Carmichael took part in the Joyce Ann Brown Innocence Clinic under the direction of attorney Cheryl Wattley. The experience of seeing firsthand how easily a person can be wrongfully convicted forever changed Ms. Carmichael’s perspective on the criminal justice system. That experience continues to influence the way she approaches every case. Ms. Carmichael is a dedicated advocate for her clients, working diligently to protect their rights, and pursue the best possible outcomes for each client.

Ms. Carmichael ’s practice includes criminal, juvenile, CPS, and family law cases.

Outside of her work, Ms. Carmichael spends time with friends and family, travels, and continues to play the violin.
